When big dreams meet fierce determination, amazing things happen.

An accomplished marathon runner, community builder, marketing strategist and event planner, Kathleen, better known as "Kat", also possesses an avid appreciation for the magic of Hawaii’s cuisine. In 2003, she combined her passion, work ethic and talents to found Gourmet Events Hawaii.

Kat brings an extraordinary breadth of experience to her role. Prior to starting the company, she honed her community-building talents as director of the Hawaii Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). She has managed grass roots public awareness campaigns for Public Interest Research Group and Sierra Club in Massachusetts, Alaska and Hawaii. Her international perspective was broadened during a two-year stint in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where she became proficient in Thai while teaching at university there.

Kat holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Communication from Emerson College in Boston, and a Master's Degree in Political Science from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Honolulu, and is actively involved in the Rotary Club of Honolulu.

Born in Michigan, Kat lives in Honolulu with her husband and two sons.
